Preston Tech Connection Meet-Up
A group centred around an interest in digital technologies, hosting regular relaxed, friendly events and meet-ups.
Attend the launch event on 10 October at Preston's Society1 who along with Neon Mountain and Tom Crawley are thrilled to announce Preston Tech Connection. It is a community of tech enthusiasts in the local area with a range of events covering all things tech related.
This will be the first event at Society1. It is going to be a relaxed and interactive meet-up. There will be opportunity to have a drink and chat with other attendees. (For ages18+).
We plan to share our ideas and aspirations for Preston Tech Connection and welcome ideas from attendees around what they would like to see.
Our theme for the evening is Virtual Reality: Real World Impact
What is the future of VR for people in their day to day. How will VR impact people socially and in business.
This will be an interaction conversation around the room about VR, AR and XR and its impact socially and in industry. It's an interesting topic so we are sure there will be some interesting thoughts and ideas. Tom with facilitate the chat and share some ideas to get the conversation going.
The evening will start at 6pm. Some drink refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity to meet and chat with other attendees before the main discussion topic.
Your host - Tom Crawley
After 25 years in the software development game, Tom has seen it all. Starting out as a Delphi developer in the late 90s, Tom moved quickly through various technologies and businesses until he decided to give up the permanent game for the contractor life. Forming Marimosa in 2011 as a vehicle for contract work, Tom ended up building the business into a B2B software agency with a team of developers, marketing and admin. Marimosa would go on to build software across a range of industries from construction through logistics and customs to gaming!
Tom has covered a lot of ground. Having sold the assets of Marimosa in 2023 he has completed the full circle. Tom is building a unique product to bring to market in 2024 as well as helping businesses with their software and technology via his new business, Neon Mountain. Known for his questionable taste in shirts, love for ridiculously spicy food and expensive guitars, Tom loves to talk about the lessons he has learned over the years in his journey to today.
